The Pin.

The pin drops guests at the back of the building. The entrance is around the corner, behind a gate nobody mentioned.

Guests circle the block. Some give up. The program starts with half the chairs empty.

It walks people to the table where our check-in greeting English APAC takes over. If there is a QR code at the gate, our QR standee line English APAC covers the words beside it.

What goes in a venue directions text English APAC?

Three lines. The pin, the gate, the landmark.

Venue directions text (illustrative):
“Pin: tap the map link below.”
“Gate: use the side gate with the teal sign, not the main gate.”
“Landmark: the covered court right behind the gate.”

Put the map link on its own line under the three lines.

Say this: The pin, the gate, the landmark.

Why is the pin not enough?

Because a pin shows the building, not the door. It can land in the middle of a property or on the wrong side of it.

Check it yourself. Go from the pin to the entrance once before you send.

How do you pick the landmark?

Pick something big, fixed and visible from the street: a covered court, a waiting shed, a school gate. Avoid things that move or close, like a parked van or a food stall.

Use the same words for the landmark in the text, on the sign and in what volunteers say at the gate.

When should the directions go out?

Twice. Once with the confirmation, and once on the day, a few hours before doors open.

The day-of text is the one people use. Keep it to one screen.

How does this play out in PH and SG?

Same three lines. Different streets.

Philippines desk. Many venues sit inside compounds or down side streets with more than one gate. Name the gate by what people see, like a colour or a sign, and say where tricycles can drop guests off.

Singapore and wider APAC desk. Large buildings often have several entrances and lift lobbies. Name the entrance and the level, and use the building’s own signage words so the text matches what guests see.
