Someone signs. The thank-you page says “Share this petition!” They tap share.
The share box opens with your pre-filled text: a paragraph of policy and four hashtags. They delete it, type “pls sign,” and send. Nobody taps.
Petition share caption English APAC is the one line a signer posts with the petition link: why it matters to them, what to do, and where.
Street-smart APAC English: short sentences a tired operator can say out loud.
The petition page English APAC makes the ask. The share caption carries it into someone else’s chat, in the signer’s voice. Different object, different reader.
What goes in a petition share caption English APAC?
Three parts in one line. The stake, the ask, the link. First person, so the signer can post it as their own.
Share caption (illustrative):
“Our street floods every rainy season. I signed for the drainage fix. Takes a minute: link below.”
The stake is personal. The ask is one verb. The link does the rest. No hashtags up front. No policy paragraph.

Why do pre-filled captions get deleted?
Because they sound like the campaign, not the person sharing. Friends tap for a friend, not for a press release.
Give signers words they would actually say. Short, first person, one reason.
| Kill this | Say this (illustrative) | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Join the movement! Sign now! #Justice #Change | I signed for the drainage fix. Takes a minute. | A person, not a slogan |
| pls sign | Our street floods every rainy season. I signed. | One reason to tap |
| Read our full platform here | One ask: fix the drainage. | One ask, not a manifesto |
| Everyone is signing this! | I signed. Here is why. | No claims you cannot check |
| Share with everyone you know! | Send it to one neighbour who floods too. | A small, real ask |

Where will the caption be read?
Mostly in chats and stories, on a phone, above a link preview. Write for the chat first.
The preview pulls its title, image and description from the petition page, so fix those there. The caption adds what the preview cannot: why this person cares. If the signer shares an image instead of a link, our image caption English APAC piece covers that line.
How many versions should signers get?
Three. One personal, one local, one for the group chat. Each one short.
Three versions (illustrative):
“I signed for the drainage fix. Takes a minute.”
“Riverside floods every rainy season. Neighbours are signing here.”
“For the group: one minute, one signature, link below.”
Put all three on the thank-you page with a copy button for each. Let signers edit freely. Read each one to someone who has not seen the petition. If they ask what it is about, the caption is missing the stake.
How does this play out in PH and SG?
Same three parts. Different chats, different tone.
Philippines desk. Shares move through family and barangay group chats, often in Taglish. Offer one version in Filipino or Taglish next to the English one. Keep it warm and plain. A caption that sounds like a government notice gets ignored.
Singapore and wider APAC desk. Readers can be wary of petitions passed around in chats. A calm, specific caption that names the issue and the ask reads as trustworthy. Skip urgency words that look like a scam message.

FAQs
What is petition share caption English APAC?
Petition share caption English APAC is the one line a signer posts with the petition link: why it matters to them, what to do, and where. It works because friends tap for a friend’s reason. It does not replace the petition page.
Should the caption include hashtags?
Only after the first line, and only if your team uses them on purpose. In chats, hashtags add noise.
Can the caption promise what the petition will achieve?
No. Say what the petition asks for, not what it will win. A promise you cannot keep damages the next ask.
Should the caption be translated?
Offer at least one version in the language your signers chat in. Keep the English version as the base your team checks.
