A townhall livestream without speakable CTAs is a two-hour comment graveyard. Livestream CTA English is four cards the host can say without looking down: open, mid-stream, close, replay. Each card has one ask. Not three.

This is the language companion to our townhall livestream conversion playbook.

Street-smart APAC English: short sentences a tired operator can say out loud.

What are the four CTA cards?

When Job Say this (adapt names and times)
Pre-roll / first 90 seconds Tell them why they stayed “You are here for the patient-cost briefing. The sign-up link is in the description. We will repeat it.”
Mid-stream after proof Convert heat while it is hot “If this number is your household, register for Thursday’s 7pm follow-up. Link in chat now.”
Close One ask, one clock “Replay goes up tonight. The action is the Thursday briefing, not the comment.”
Replay / next-day cut Catch the late viewer “Missed the stream. The next live hour is Thursday 7pm. Register once.”

If the host improvises a fifth ask, the first four die.

Livestream CTA English card: Tonight’s ask: Thursday 7pm briefing.…, we are not taking medical or legal…, replay and the same link post after we….
Say this: Tonight’s ask: Thursday 7pm briefing.…, we are not taking medical or legal…, replay and the same link post after we….

Why do livestream asks fail in PH and APAC feeds?

Too many links. Chat gets a donation page, a petition, a merch drop, and a volunteer form. Nobody knows which one is the point of the hour.

Host-read mush. “Please support us in any way you can.” That is not an ask. That is a shrug.

Replay with no spine. The cut ships with “full video” and no burned CTA. Diaspora viewers land at 2am their time and bounce.

Kill list for the booth

Kill Why it hurts Card line
“Smash the like button” as the closer Platform metric, not a voter or donor action “Register for Thursday 7pm. Link in the description.”
“Share to your story” with no sentence People will not invent your caption Give them the stake line to paste
Live donation pitch before proof Sounds like a telethon Proof first. Ask second.
“Linktree in bio” on a Facebook Live Extra hop on prepaid data One destination URL, repeated
Open Q&A with no fence Turns the hour into rumor control “Questions on tonight’s three points only.”
Kill this, say this panel: habits crossed out, replaced by tonight’s ask: Thursday 7pm briefing.…, we are not taking medical or legal…, replay and the same link post after we….
Kill this: the habit lines.

What does the chat moderator type?

Three pinned lines. Nothing else.

  1. “Tonight’s ask: Thursday 7pm briefing. Link: [one destination link].”
  2. “We are not taking medical or legal questions in chat.”
  3. “Replay and the same link post after we close.”

If a rumor starts in chat, do not debate it live. Point to the FAQ page. Then return to the card.

Monday field kit

  • Four CTA cards printed, font large enough for a dim room.
  • One destination URL tested on prepaid data.
  • Moderator pins drafted before go-live.
  • Replay caption written before the stream starts, not after.

FAQs

What is livestream CTA English?

It is a set of short host-reads and chat pins that name one action and one clock. It works on the live hour and on the replay.

How many asks per hour?

One primary. A reminder of the same primary. A replay of the same primary. That is still one ask.

Where should the link go?

One page that loads fast on a phone. Not a homepage. Not a PDF.
