Event Page line English APAC, Quezon City: When, where, who.
When.

An event page that leads with the theme will lose the RSVP.

Event page English is four facts above the fold: when, where (or the stream link), who is in the chair, and one ask. The theme can wait until line five.

Street-smart APAC English: short sentences a tired operator can say out loud.

Calendars, Maps, and answer engines look for time and place first. If those sit under a 90-word vision paragraph, the card stays empty and the auntie in Quezon City never finds the door.

This is the page-side companion to our livestream CTA English, which writes what the host says during the stream, and our townhall livestream conversion playbook. Those pieces run the hour. This one writes the page people land on before it.

What belongs above the fold?

Block Who uses it Sentence shape
When Calendar / Maps / aunties Day, date, start, end, timezone. “Wednesday 7 Oct 2026, 6:30–8:00pm PHT.”
Where Maps and security Named venue plus city. Or “Livestream on this page.”
Who Trust Role and one credential. Not a biography.
One ask Conversion “RSVP with a working mobile number.” or “Join the stream. Questions in chat.”

Add accessibility and language in the next block: “Filipino interpretation on arrival. English slides on screen.”

Paste-ready four-fact block (illustrative):

Event Page line card: When, where, who.
Say this: When, where, who.

Townhall on the school-meal budget line.
Wednesday 7 Oct 2026, 6:30–8:00pm PHT. Barangay hall, Quezon City. Livestream on this page.
Chair: the policy lead who wrote the brief.
RSVP with a working mobile number.

Kill this / say this

Kill this Say this (illustrative)
“An evening of dialogue toward a more inclusive future.” “Townhall. 7 Oct 2026, 6:30pm PHT. Quezon City. RSVP on this page.”
“Speakers to be announced.” as the only who-line “Chair: the policy lead who wrote the brief. Second name posts 48 hours prior.”
Three competing CTAs: RSVP, donate, volunteer, share One ask on the page. Other asks after they confirm.
“Venue TBD, somewhere near the bay” Do not publish the page until the venue or stream URL is real.

Timezone and diaspora

PH events that hope for Dubai or Singapore viewers must print two clocks. “6:30pm PHT / 2:30pm GST / 6:30pm SGT” is kinder than “this evening.”

Write the clock the way the reader lives. A worker in Dubai should not have to do maths at a bus stop. On the version you send to that community, print their local time first and keep the PHT time beside it, so the organisers and the reader are looking at the same hour.

The who-line matters here too. A diaspora viewer deciding whether to stay up late wants to know who is in the chair and why that person is worth the hour. Role and one credential. Not a paragraph.

If your SMS policy sets quiet hours, they still apply to reminder texts. The event page can be live. The ping can wait.

Kill this, say this panel: habits crossed out, replaced by when, where, who.
Kill this: the habit lines.

Where does event page English travel besides the page?

Everywhere the event is announced. And it has to say the same thing everywhere.

The page, the calendar invite, the story card, the partner caption and the reminder text all carry the same four facts. If the story card says 6pm and the page says 6:30pm, people will pick the one they saw first and arrive at the wrong time.

Channel Carries Kill this
Calendar invite All four facts, plus the page link An invite titled “Townhall” with no time zone
Story card When, where, one ask A theme line with the date in small type
Partner caption When, where, one ask, and the page link Each partner rewriting the time in their own format
Share preview The event name and the date A card that only shows the logo

For the share preview line, see our OG card English piece.

What happens to the page after the event?

It becomes a replay page, the same day.

Change the H1 from “Townhall tonight” to “Townhall replay.” Replace the RSVP with the replay link and one follow-up ask. Keep the date on the page so a reader in two weeks knows when it happened.

Flat illustration, Quezon City crowd-flow diagram toward the exit: When, where, who.
Desk note: Who.

Kill: “Join us tonight!” still live on a page three days later. Say: “Replay: townhall on the school-meal budget line, held 7 Oct 2026. Next step: read the one-page brief.”

A dead “tonight” teaches visitors that nobody is minding the page.

Monday field kit

  1. Write the four facts before the creative team opens a file.
  2. Lock the same four facts on the page, the IG story, and the calendar invite.
  3. If one channel changes the time, all three change the same hour.
  4. After the event, the page becomes a replay page. Do not leave “tonight” on a Thursday URL.
  5. Print two clocks for any event that hopes for diaspora viewers.

Paste-ready note for the page owner:

Event check: four facts above the fold, one ask, same time on every channel, replay swap scheduled for the end of the event.

FAQs

What is event page English?

It is the four-fact block that tells a person and a machine when, where, who, and what to do next. Everything else sits below it.

Do I need Event schema?

It helps, after the English is locked. Event markup has to match the visible page, and it cannot rescue a page that never printed the time.

What if the guest cancels?

Change the who-line the same hour. Do not leave a famous name on a page they will not attend.

Can the ask be a donation?

Only if the event is a fundraiser and the page says so in sentence one. A townhall that surprises people with a donate wall loses the room.

What to do this week

Open your next event page on a phone. If you cannot see the date, the place and the ask without scrolling, move them up before you promote it.
