The sky opens an hour before the rally. The group chat fills with one question: is it still on?
Three organisers answer three different ways. Half the volunteers show up wet to an empty court.
Rain delay notice English APAC is the short text that tells people an event has moved because of weather: status or new time first, then the place, then what to do.
Street-smart APAC English: short sentences a tired operator can say out loud.
It updates the plan in our volunteer shift confirm English APAC piece. If you send it as an app alert, our push notification English APAC piece covers the swipe.
What goes in a rain delay notice English APAC?
Status, new time, place, what to do. In that order, one line each.
Rain delay notice (illustrative):
“Rain delay: tonight’s townhall moves to 7:30pm.”
“Same barangay, but inside the hall, not the court.”
“Volunteers: come at 7pm. Everyone else: stay dry, come at 7:30.”
Put the status word first: delayed, moved or cancelled. People decide from the first two words.

Who decides, and on what basis?
The organiser decides, following the official weather advisory and the venue or local organiser’s call. The comms desk writes the notice. It does not make the call.
Name one decision-maker in advance and a time by which they will decide. The desk does not quote or interpret weather bulletins. It says what the organiser decided and, where useful, that the decision follows the official advisory.
| Kill this | Say this (illustrative) | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Due to inclement weather, please be advised… | Rain delay: townhall moves to 7:30pm. | Status and time first |
| Event may or may not push through, will update | Decision by 5pm. We will text you either way. | A time for the decision |
| It’s just drizzle, come anyway! | Same place, inside the hall. | No forecasting |
| Signal is up, stay safe!!! | We follow the official advisory. Stay safe. | No agency claims |
| Cancelled. | Cancelled tonight. New date by Friday. | Say what happens next |

When should the notice go out?
As soon as the decision is made, and before people leave home. Then once more only if something changes.
Set a decision time in your plan and tell people when to expect word. “Decision by 5pm” stops the group chat spiral. If the call cannot be made yet, say when it will be.
Which channel should carry it?
Every channel people signed up through, with the same words. The text is the source. The group chat and social post copy it word for word.
Different wording in different channels creates the confusion you are trying to stop. One person sends. Everyone else forwards.
How does this play out in PH and SG?
Same order. Different weather habits and venues.
Philippines desk. In the rainy months, weather delays are part of planning outdoor events. Name an indoor fallback in the original confirmation. Follow the official advisory and the barangay or venue organiser’s decision, and write the notice in the language of the group chat.
Singapore and wider APAC desk. Sudden heavy showers can pause outdoor events at short notice. Follow the venue operator’s safety call and any official advisory. Keep notices short, because people read them in transit.
Paste-ready lock
Three lines to keep drafted before every outdoor event.
Paste-ready lock (illustrative):
“Weather check: decision on tonight’s event by 5pm. We will text you either way.”
“Rain delay: tonight’s event moves to 7:30pm, same place, indoors.”
“Cancelled tonight for weather. New date by Friday. Stay safe.”

FAQs
What is rain delay notice English APAC?
Rain delay notice English APAC is the short text that tells people an event has moved because of weather: status or new time first, then the place, then what to do. It works because people decide from the first words. It does not forecast the weather.
Should the notice explain the weather?
No. Say what the organiser decided and that it follows the official advisory. Weather details belong to official sources.
What if the weather clears after we cancel?
Keep the decision. Changing it twice breaks trust faster than one cancelled event.
Should volunteers still come early?
Only if the notice says so, with a time. Otherwise everyone follows the same new time.
